Modular course system:
Training participants often have different levels of CNC knowledge. The applications and, therefore, the course requirements of the various customers can differ considerably. In order to meet these individual requirements of our clientele, the described course modules can be taken individually or continuously.

Programming language:
Our trainings are conducted exclusively in Heidenhain-conversational - also referred to as dialogue. Trainings in DIN/ISO are provided directly by Heidenhain.

Easy change:
By way of linear development of the Heidenhain controls, an efficient transfer from older to latest controls or from basic TNC 620 to high-tech control iTNC 530 is provided. Choose your module from our wide variety of training opportunities.

Basic modules

  • Module A1 - Programming course for Heidenhain beginners

    Module A1 - Programming course for Heidenhain beginners

    Module A1 - Duration: 2 days (8901-112)

     

    Control types:
    Heidenhain TNC
    The basic functions of these controls are identical. For exercises various control types are placed at your disposal.

    Course topics:
    Basic knowledge of CNC programming in the Heidenhain-conversational-programming language such as: tool radius correction, contour milling, cycles and subprogram technique. After two days the participant will be able to program simple workparts on his/her own and to test these programs by means of graphic simulation on the control.

    Preconditions:
    Basically none, the course is designed for:

    • CNC-beginners and people without Heidenhain experience
    • All participants who seek to learn from scratch about controls

    COURSE SCHEDULE IN DETAIL:

    1st day:

    • Welcome, introduction, explanation of training process, infrastructure-explication
    • Instruction of machine operating
    • Advice on safety regulations and precautions
    • Simple milling program without subprogram technique:
      Graphic (BLK FORM), tool call (TOOL CALL), radius correction (R0/RL/RR)
      straight movements in cartesian and polar coordinate system
    • Simple milling program with subprogram technique:
      Subprogram technique, chamfer through curvature or bevel
    • Programming of contours with circular arcs:
      Circular arcs in cartesian and polar coordinate system by means of specifications of circle centre and end point (CC + C), circcle centre and end angle (CC + CP), circuit radius and end point (CR) and tangential connection (CT, CTP)

    2nd day:

    • Drills with the aid of drilling cycles:
      Cycle definition (CYCLE DEF), cycle call (CYCLE CALL)
    • Milling cycles: Simple pocket cycle
    • Final thesis: Programming of a combined task. Diverse elements such as milling, drilling and machining cycles will be used in combination on a workpiece.

    Control types:
    Heidenhain TNC which are equipped with all functions. The program technical functions of these controls are identical. For exercises different control types are placed at your disposal.

    Course topics:
    Extended functions of TNC controls in the Heidenhain conversational programming language (see detailed course program). Compared to module A1 and D1 the pace of the course will be increased. After completion of the course the participant will be able to program complex 2 1/2 -D-workpieces on his/her own.

    Preconditions:

    • Successful participants of the programming courses module A1 or D1
    • Heidenhain basic knowledge (see module A1 content)

    1st day:

    • Welcome, introduction, explanation of training process, infrastructure-explication (only when there are new participants)

    • Repetition of the final thesis of the basic course: In this way the newcomers have been up-dated. For basic course graduates this part of the course is a repetition.
    • Systematic procedure when programming

    • Coordinate conversion cycles: Zero-point adjustment, rotation, to mirror, scale factor
    • Contour cycles (SL-cycles): Clear out of contour pockets with islands of residual material detection, contour draw

    2nd day:

    • Free contour programming (FK): Operator panel, functions, programming of miscellaneous contour examples

    Course topics:
    Machining plane tilting with plane spatial and cycle 19. The participants will take part in decision-making of the exact course schedule and the topics. We will work in small groups on different topics. For most of the day, this course will take place directly on the machine.

    • Successful participants of module A1/A2
    • Customers who have already mastered the control and the machine operation

    In order to profit as much as possible from the practical start-up training, we suggest the following preparations prior to the arrival of the Fehlmann technician:

    • Setting up the machine according instruction handbook
    • Material check
    • Cleaning and antirust-protection of the accessories
    • Preparation of simple workparts (drawings, cutting tools and materials) on which the practical training will take place
    • During the start-up the course participants should be dispensed from their normal duties in order to allow them to focus on the course

    Process:
    General instruction in operating and programming of the machine and the machine accessories. The below-mentioned points are only to be considered as guidelines which can be adjusted to customer requirements.
